Howdy, Kendell here!

I’ve been known to wear many hats: teacher, storyteller, video maker, builder, media-based organizer, project manager, designer, archivist, curator, press operator, researcher, videotape collector…The list goes on.

Currently, I serve as the Shop Manager & Lead Instructor for Build Trybe’s wood and metal fabrication shop. Build Trybe is a paid apprenticeship program that provides employable skills training to young adults who are aging out of foster care, experiencing houselessness, or who are otherwise under-resourced.

Over the last decade, my life as both a student and a teacher has been influenced by many schools of thought: Interchange Artist Fellowship (2019), The Prelinger Library (2019), The Oxbow School (2018), The Zz School of Print Media (2017), A never-accredited-community-supported-2-year grad-school (2016), Signal Culture (2015), The Luminary FLOAT (2014), The Kansas City Art Institute (2013), The Ox-Bow School of Art (2012), & Arcosanti (2011).
